International Rescue Dogs

September 18, 20232 min read

International Rescue Dogs are my favourite.

That's a bold statement i know. Nothing against any other dogs. I just find these dogs incredible. Their ways of communicating, reading signals, judging life, experiencing life, it's all just different.

Different in a good way. I like different. It gives us a reason to think outside the box as a trainer. I like working out the pieces of the puzzle that might be a bit more awkard to piece together.

I've worked with international rescue dogs for 10 years, and currently owned by 4 Cypriot dogs. Every day they do something that amazes me! What they've experienced in life; for example Kylie who was shot at in Cyprus, lived in a pound for 18 months before she was rescued and then eventually found her way to my sofa, She has an understandable fear of missing out on everything; hates men in hats and giraffes on the TV. But this is all exxplainable given what she's been through in life.

International rescues are quite often a closed book. They keep their cards close to their chest. But once you start to build that bond, you'll find a very incredible dog underneath that just needed to be listed to.

I've recently started an International Rescue Dog Academy for guardians and their dogs. A fun, friendly and non-judgemental group of like minded owners with a dog trainer in your pocket! It's £10 a month with lots of help, tips, ideas, fun, tasks and a fortnightly live Q&A session with me as well as online support. There's such a gap in dog training for owners, and having experienced and dealt with so much over the years with my rescues, i have alot of experience, training and behaviour knowledge that can help you and your dog set yourselves up for success!

More info is avaialble here and do feel free to contact me for more info!
