Vikki has owned and trained her own dogs all her life but had a career change from being a successful Chartered Surveyor in her 40s. She now eats, sleeps, studies, and breaths anything dog when she is not juggling life as a single mum to her amazing 3 children.
Having grown up with multiple dogs of various breeds, Vikki's first own dog was a Cavalier called Cindy who was given to her on her 8th birthday. Cindy was her first introduction to training. Since then, Vikki has owned and competed various breeds, and currently has a Field Spaniel, a Sprocker Spaniel and a Terrier.
Now in her 50s, Vikki is qualified with The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT), The Agility Club, Scentwork UK, Dog Training College and Pet Professional Guild (PPG). She also has undertaken both human and canine first aid qualifications, is DBS cleared, and continues undertake regular CPD and study for further professional qualifications.
Vikki has considerable experience working with rescues dogs and is the lead trainer for Hungary Hearts Dog Rescue, meeting all 300+ dogs each year as they arrive from Hungary and providing support to the new adopters.
Additionally, many local vets, groomers, dog walkers and day care providers also recommend clients regularly to Cleaver Dog Training.
Millie was born in 2014 and is a stunning rare breed Field Spaniel. She is generally very laid back and likes nothing better than lazing around on her bed in the van.
Heading towards her twilight years, Millie would rather look back on her time when she was shown Crufts, as well as training and competing in rally, heelwork to music and agility, than do too much formal training and competing now! She still does enjoy showing off her skills occasionally at heelwork to music events as well as attending demonstrations but would prefer to leave most of this to her rather more energetic and overzealous partner in crime, Hettie.
Millie's favourite treats are dehydrated chicken stomachs and her number one toy is a dangly soft cow!
Hettie is an extremely intelligent terrier arrived totally untrained in 2016 when she was 15 months old.
Hettie adores training and will take every opportunity to show off her extensive trick repertoire. She has been competing in agility, rally and heelwork to music. Being the social butterfly that she is, she also loves to do demonstrations at schools, care homes and public events and is loved by everyone who meets her. Unfortunately, her age is now starting to take its toll, so she will not be competing much more in the future sadly.
Her natural chew of choice is Skippers Wolf Fish skin twists and she loves squeaky balls but food will usually win over a toy with Hettie!
Pixie is a beautiful but crazy Sprocker Spaniel who has had to overcome huge challenges in life after being bred by a puppy farm in 2018.
Despite various behavioural and medical issues, she is a totally adored member of the team and excels as a photography model.
Due to her anxieties, no one ever expected to see Pixie out competing but with sympathetic training, she started to get placings in Heelwork to Music competitions, but her career was cut short again due to her pain issues. Pixie's energetic antics and love for digging, showcase her lively personality.
Pixie's favourite treat is 100% Goat JR Pate and her best toy is a cardboard box to destroy!
Luton actually belongs to a lovely friend, Daphne, but Vikki borrows him for heelwork to music (dancing with dogs) training and competitions while her own dogs take a well earned retirement from competing. He is a very enthusiastic Sprocker Spaniel who was born in 2020.
Luton has done very little competing so far but is loving his new job as a dance partner, albeit, sometimes enjoying it a little too much! He has also successfully competed in a few online rally competitions with his real mummy, Daphne.
Luton will not eat any chew treats at
home but eats anything on offer if the other 3 are in the same room!
