⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rated 5 Stars by Local Dog Owners
Agility is a great outlet for physical and mental energy, both for dogs and their humans!
It also helps to build your dog’s confidence, encourage self-control and improve distraction training.
Our agility training will also further develop your bond together whilst you have fun in a small group setting or individually as 1 to 1s.
In order to start our recreational agility sessions, your dog needs to be at least 12 months of age and have no underlying health conditions which could affect agility training – if in doubt about the suitability for your dog, please book a free assessment call.
For group training, dogs must be sociable around others and have a reasonable recall.
Priority for Improvers Agility is given to handlers signing up to a discounted price direct debit but this does not always suit everyone so from time to time we have single month bookings available for the Improvers Agility courses.
These blocks are for dogs who have previously completed a beginners course with us or elsewhere, but please check with us that this specific session is suitable for your ability level.
Who?
Dogs must have completed a beginners agility course with us or elsewhere, with your dog being reasonably competent through 6 straight weaves (with guides if required) and familiar with the dog walk and A frame at full height. Dogs must be friendly around dogs and people. as well as having basic obedience skills.
What?
Aiming more at recreational handlers, our qualified experienced trainer will guide you through navigating a full set of competition standard agility equipment safely. Groups are kept to a maximum of 4-5 dogs to ensure maximum learning.
When?
After completion of your beginners course, we will let you know what availability there is for your current level of ability and endeavour to schedule a session to suit if there is nothing available. Sessions take place at various times throughout the week, both daytimes, weekends and evenings, with each session lasting 1 hour. It may be necessary to adjust the session time from time to time depending on the weather but this will be a joint decision with the whole group.
Where?
Group training takes place at our own training centre at Copas Farrm, High Street, Old Amersham, HP7 0EG. The agility training usually takes place outdoors in our secure paddock but if the weather is exceptionally bad (very heavy rain, strong winds, below 0 degrees or over 22 degrees), training will take place in our training hall (with fans/air conditioning as required).
OTHER STUFF
PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH VIKKI TO AGREE A SUITABLE SESSION TO JOIN AND OBTAIN DETAILS FOR PAYMENT
There are 4 regular dog slots available per session and we aim to hold sessions for at least 48 sessions per year. In the event that it is necessary to reduce this, payments will be adjusted accordingly.
Direct Debit PaymentsParticipants pay by monthly direct debit at a current rate of £75 per month which is payable in advance on the 6th of each month to coincide with the tax year. You may be able to join during the month and your first payment will be calculated on a pro rata basis at £17.50 per session.
WhatsApp GroupAgility members will automatically be added to a WhatsApp group for the day of your sessions where any recorded footage will be shared and any day specific messages communicated with the members. Members will also be added to the 'Agility Swapsies' WhatsApp group where you will be able to swap sessions amongst yourselves (subject to the session being suitable for you and your dog as decided by our trainers). Any general notifications to all agility members will also be communicated via this group, but please try to keep notifications limited and relevant so the thread does not become overly protracted!
